2018 JUNIOR RIVER CUP

The Junior River Cup is a Ryder Cup style event between the the top junior golfers in Louisiana and Mississippi.  It is conducted in Mississippi in even years and Louisiana in odd years. 

 

Entry Fee: $200. Entry fee includes 4 rounds of golf: Friday, September 21 (practice round), Saturday, September 22 (2 rounds), and Sunday, September 23. Also includes Team Louisiana Uniforms (2 golf shirts and a hat), lunch Saturday and Sunday, and the meal for players at the Saturday night banquet.

 

Refund Policy: Entry fee will be refunded regardless of reason if LGA office is notified, in writing, before the close of entries (9/4/18). After the close of entries, fee will be refunded only in the event of injury or illness provided notification (accompanied by a doctor’s statement) reaches LGA office by September 21, 2018. A $40 service charge will be deducted from all refunds.

 

Field/Format: Invitation Only. 20 players per team. 4 players in each age group and 4 girls. Age groups are as follow: 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, and 16-18 for boys; 13-18 for girls.

Format of play is Match Play. Four-Ball matches will be played Saturday morning and Foursome matches that afternoon (September 22). These will be 9 hole matches for the 10-11 age group boys ONLY. All other Four-Ball and Foursome matches on Saturday will be 18 holes. Each match on Saturday is worth one point. Sunday (September 23) will be Singles matches, all 18 holes, worth 1 point each. Sunday's Singles matches will be determined at the Junior River Cup banquet Saturday night. 

 

Team Louisiana Uniforms: Competitors will wear issued Team Louisiana uniforms. More info will be included in the invitation and email notice to competitors. Important Note:  Deerfield GC is a spikeless facility and all competitors will be required to wear spikeless shoes.

 

As mentioned above, there will be a player recognition dinner Saturday night, September 22 at Deerfield Golf Club. Attire is coat and tie for boys, dress or dress pants and blouse for girls. Sunday's singles matches will be determined at this dinner.

 

Eligibility/Team Members: Entries are open to Louisiana junior golfers who have been selected by The Committe. 

Practice Privileges: Practice privileges are extended to participants in the Junior River Cup at Deerfield GC Friday, September 21. If participants wish to utilize a cart for the practice round, they must pay a cart fee, otherwise the practice round is covered in the entry fee.

Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to each player on the winning team, and the host State Golf Association will take possession of the Junior River Cup trophy for the next calendar year. In case of a tie for the Junior River Cup, team Louisiana will retain possession.

 

Rules of Golf: Play will be governed by the Rules of Golf. All questions will be settled by the Rules Committee, whose decision will be final.
