The LJGT was established in 2019 by the Louisiana Golf Association and Gulf States Section PGA to promote junior golf in Louisiana.  The mission of the LJGT is to create more playing opportunities for ALL junior golfers in Louisiana and to do so at an affordable rate.  The LJGT provides a first-class experience for competitors and fosters the valued traditions of the game through character development, self-reliance, and sportsmanship.  Louisiana Junior Golf Tour membership is open to juniors of all skill levels, ages 11-18.  The LJGT helps junior golfers build a foundation of skills and knowledge that they will be able to use throughout the rest of their lives.

About the Louisiana Golf Association:

The LGA is the governing body for amateur golf in Louisiana and exists to foster the enhancement and expansion of amateur golf through the development of member and information services, the promotion of opportunities for all who want to play, and the protection of the game’s integrity and valued traditions.          

                                   

The LGA is licensed by the United States Golf Association as the “Allied Golf Association” of record for the state of Louisiana. The LGA supports the game in a vast number of ways, including; 1) conducting 36 LGA, Louisiana Junior Golf Tour, and USGA Championship and qualifying events, 2) providing consistency in handicapping statewide through the World Handicap System, 3) administering the USGA Course and Slope Rating program in Louisiana, 4) Clearinghouse for the USGA Rules of Golf and Amateur Status, 5) Youth On Course, 6) as well as a myriad of other benefits and services to our Member Clubs and their members.  Through your support, you’ll continue to help the LGA grow the game through these initiatives and also help preserve the true spirit of the game that means so much to us all.
